This is our public realm? Lifestyle centers aren’t any worse than malls as gathering places; in fact, they’re a lot better-designed, successfully capturing most of the pleasures of walking down a city street. And yet, if it’s crossed your mind that, as a society, we’re getting a little confused about our right to freedom of expression, then lifestyle centers are a fair target. There’s something a bit unhealthy about faux public places designed to attract rich people and make them feel comfortable. (At least the traditional mall didn’t try to hide the fact that it was a shopping center.) The lifestyle center is a bizarre outgrowth of the suburban mentality: People want public space, even if making that space private is the only way to get it.

But demographics are actually a crude way of personalizing prices, the Brandeis economist Benjamin Shiller argued in a recent paper, “First-Degree Price Discrimination Using Big Data.” If Netflix were to use only demographic factors, such as people’s race, household income, and zip code, to personalize subscription prices, his model predicted, it could boost its profits by 0.3 percent. But if Netflix also used people’s web-browsing history—the percentage of web use on Tuesdays, the number of visits to RottenTomatoes.com, and some 5,000 other variables—it could boost its profits by 14.6 percent.

AliExpress offers nearly everything you’d ever need to buy at mind-blowing prices. Sellers have individual shops on the site, so there is always a chance of being scammed. Read this guide before buying, just in case.
The lack of full cost disclosure may also be problematic. While it may be easy to compare the base price of an item online, it may not be easy to see the total cost up front. Additional fees such as shipping are often not visible until the final step in the checkout process. The problem is especially evident with cross-border purchases, where the cost indicated at the final checkout screen may not include additional fees that must be paid upon delivery such as duties and brokerage. Some services such as the Canadian-based Wishabi attempts to include estimates of these additional cost, but nevertheless, the lack of general full cost disclosure remains a concern.

Cute! More for a tunic than a dress. I got a L so I can have it longer after reading all the reviews. I’m usually a S in normal sizing (5’4 120lbs). I like the oversized fit so I’m happy with it. Would still probably wear leggings with it though.

One might think that Marshalls, HomeGoods, TJ Maxx are one in the same, (and to be fair, they are owned by the same company, TJX Companies) but to a seasoned shopper, these stores each have their own specific personality – and an inventory to match. While TJ Maxx is my discount clothing go-to, (and Marshalls is a close second), HomeGoods is an interior enthusiast’s heaven.

Online customers must have access to the Internet and a valid method of payment in order to complete a transaction. Generally, higher levels of education and personal income correspond to more favorable perceptions of shopping online. Increased exposure to technology also increases the probability of developing favorable attitudes towards new shopping channels.
For those who like to wear their attitude on their sleeve (or front, or hat), this e-boutique offers cheeky tees, bombers, patches, and accessories featuring the work of founder and artist Ilse Valfré.

The Trump team treated these rules and norms as artifacts of a hidebound and ineffective Washington, obstacles that had kept qualified, inventive people from the business sector out of public service on mere technicalities. The president-elect also clearly viewed the hue and cry of ethics experts—from Norm Eisen and Richard Painter to Walter Shaub—as efforts to delegitimize his presidency.

Our office is just a teensy bit obsessed with this trend-driven fashion site—whether it’s the off-the-shoulder tops, cropped flares, or matching sets, almost everything is under $100. (Which means you can get a few things while you’re at it, right?)

Since these are antiques, the quality is inconsistent and you need to be careful with the purchase you make. The prices vary depending on the type, age, and appearance of the product. For example, you can get a nice piece of wall art for around $100.
Pros: look beautiful, no wobbles, comfortable to sit in. Cons: most difficult piece of furniture I’ve ever assembled, and I’ve assembled a ton. The Allen wrench doesn’t have enough clearance to turn properly so it takes forever to tighten the bolts. It’s almost impossible to line the backrest holes up with the stool frame and the screws are so short, you can’t see what you’re doing. Took me and my husband hours to assemble 4 stools, and we are experienced at assembling furniture.
I cannot say how this will weather or hold up to the elements, but in the box it is gorgeous! It is a Christmas gift for my husband who will love it because it looks just like our Chloe, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi. I was not at all disappointed.

I write here my personal bad experience with both these companies. One of our meditators ordered and paid for four English dictionaries to donate to us from Amazon.in, we received only 1 and the kind donor ordered and paid for another lot of 14 dictionaries from flipkart (order number OD002604923261113400) we received only 7. There has been no response from the customer care departments of both these companies either. It is not so much about not getting the books..but plain cheating for such small sums is strange and heart breaking … Please if we can spread this to as many people as possible, we can at least make both public and these companies aware of this and others can benefit from it in future…

The premise of Scott Aukerman and Adam Scott’s new podcast could never be described as topical. It’s hard to imagine why the mere announcement of an ongoing series in which a comedian and an actor go through the discography of the rock band R.E.M. (the “Everybody Hurts” one, the one that broke up in 2011) caused such a stir in the comedy world. To describe it, R U Talkin’ R.E.M. Re: Me? sounds like an absurd bit of niche normcore satire, two white celebrities in their 40s discussing a musical act that peaked sometime in the mid-1990s. It is that; it’s also, somehow, so much more.
