The metal infrastructure — or legs — is very strong and sturdy. The leaf pattern adds a touch of elegance and character. When looking at photos of the tables on the Overstock website, I thought the tables could be tippy, especially on carpet. Not so — they are very stable. The three circular tiered surfaces have a rich cherry/walnut finish. The top tier has almost an inlay effect, which adds another touch of elegance. There’s plenty of room for a table lamp and a couple of small decorations, and each of the lower tiers can accommodate items like books or magazines or small decorative items. The one minor negative is the finish work along the beveled edges of the circular wooden table surfaces: although the staining and finish work are smooth and durable, the edges have a hint of roughness that’s more visual than tactile — higher-end wood furniture has better finishing, with perfectly smooth edges. If I wanted to pay, say, $ or more for each end table, I probably could have that kind of quality finish work. But for the price on Overstock, these tables look right at home in most any setting, even formal ones, with a high-end look. No regrets with the purchase. We’ve had them for over a year, and they look as good now as they did when I put them together. And I’m glad I shopped around a bit since I was able to really make a better decision that saved some money. If you’re looking for a unique end table that has a high-end look, the Nestor end table’s a good option.
